Qwick.News (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a venture of Legal Desire Media. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you use our website and applications (the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, password hash, language and country preference, briefing time, topic selections.
- Usage data: articles you bookmark, briefings generated, listening activity, device/browser type, IP address.
- Payment data: processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (our Merchant of Record). We never store your full card details.
- Push subscriptions: endpoint and keys you grant for browser notifications.
2. How we use it
To deliver your personalised briefing, send notifications you opted into, process payments, prevent abuse, and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Processors we share data with
- Supabase (database and auth hosting)
- Cloudflare (hosting / CDN)
- ElevenLabs (text-to-speech)
- OpenAI / Google AI gateways (briefing summarisation)
- NewsAPI (article sourcing)
- Paddle (payments, EU VAT, invoicing)
- Resend or equivalent (transactional email)
4. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies for sign-in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear them anytime in your browser.
5. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and you can object to processing. Contact us at privacy@qwick.news and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records held by Paddle).
7. Children
Qwick.News is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
8. International transfers
Data may be processed in the EU, US, and India. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the EEA.
